Under the project, The National Housing Trust (NHT) will develop 834 housing solutions over a 16-month period at Phase III of Longville Park, Clarendon. The groundbreaking comes just three months after the official contract signing between the NHT and the contractors, M & M Limited, which took place in March of this year.

Longville Park Phase III will comprise 234 serviced lots, 100 studio units, 180 one-bedroom units and 320 two-bedroom units. When completed the Longville Park Housing Development Phase III will make Longville Park one of the largest NHT schemes in rural Jamaica.

Public Sector workers to benefit from 2 per cent reduced interest come July 1
Effective July 1, government employees who are NHT mortgagors will be granted a special 1% reduction in the interest charged on their loans for the next three years. This is in addition to the 1% interest rate reduction being offered to all NHT mortgagors.

The Trust will automatically adjust the interest rate on the loan accounts of all government employees currently paying their mortgage via salary deduction. However, mortgagors not currently paying via salary deduction should visit the nearest NHT office by June 25, to register for the special 1% interest rate reduction. When visiting the Trust, mortgagors must take the following documents:
- last two pay slips or a letter verifying employment with a government ministry, agency or institution, and
- valid identification (passport, voter’s identification or driver’s licence)
