NHT markets Unions Estate and more schemes

Between Tuesday, August 3, 2010 and Tuesday, August 10, 2010, the National Housing Trust will be inviting applications for Thirty-Five (35) Apartments and Townhouses in Unions Estate, Twickenham Park, St. Catherine. Unions Estate is a gated community approximately 2 km. east of Spanish Town Square, in close proximity to the Registrar General’s Department, the Twickenham Park Police Station and Training Camp.

Units available at Unions Estate and price ranges
The available units include: 24 - two-bedroom apartments, 6- three-bedroom apartments and 5- two-bedroom townhouses. The selling prices for the two-bedroom apartments start from $5,800,000.00 to $6,100,000.00. The price range for the three-bedroom apartments is $6,950,000.00 to $7,150,000.00, while the two-bedroom townhouses are being sold from $7,455,000.00 to $7,600,000.00.

Already offered on the market
Already the NHT has sold 33 units in Unions Estate, Phase 1, as well as 46 two-bedroom houses at Morris Meadows, Phase 3, which is also located in St. Catherine. Last year the NHT also sold 35 lots in Leeds, St Elizabeth.

Upcoming Schemes
The NHT is also working to deliver and/or start construction on a number of housing solutions across the island. Eight schemes are now under construction, and 14 schemes will begin construction in the financial Year 2010/2011. These include seven schemes for St. Catherine, one for St. Elizabeth, one each for Westmoreland and Hanover, two for St. James, one for Trelawny, one for St. Mary, two for St. Thomas and four for St. Andrew. The scheme now under construction in Manchester will be completed in 2012.
